The DRS is a circular recovery model in which PET, glass, and aluminum beverage containers ranging from 0.1 L to 3 L are sold with a deposit fee, and this fee is refunded to the consumer when the containers are returned to designated collection points.
The mandatory DRS, operated by the Turkish Environment Agency, is a comprehensive infrastructure that ensures single-use beverage packaging is recycled while preserving its physical integrity and enables the deposit fee to be refunded through a digital ecosystem.
Each package included in the system carries a special ink logo printed by the Mint. This high-security logo instantly verifies the package’s eligibility for return.
